Paco Ibañez, in the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya on the 25th of November

The concert is part of the project “Vivencias” which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the release of his first recording

To speak of Paco Ibañez is to speak of one of the best-known voices in the Spanish singer-songwriter tradition. Born in 1934, Ibañez used his songs as a means of interpreting the works of some of the great poets of the era, releasing his first recording, Paco Ibañez canta a Lorca y Góngora (Paco Ibañez sings Lorca and Góngora), in 1964, with illustrations by Salvador Dalí. Closer observation of these dates reveals that Ibañez will be celebrating his eightieth birthday this year and that half a century has elapsed since his debut, reason aplenty for the preparation of a commemorative project that he has baptised Vivencias (Experiences), an initiative that includes the re-release of his back catalogue, didactic events based on his work, and a celebratory tour of concerts.

Where Barcelona fans are concerned, the concert in question will take place on the 25th of November in the main auditorium of the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, in which Ibañez will offer a retrospective of the songs that have most influenced his artistic career over the years on a stage designed especially for the occasion by Frederic Amat.

Paco Ibañez will perform in the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya on the 25th of November and tickets are priced at 40 euros. More information is available on the theatre website.
