OVNI 2016: The Border as Centre. Zones of being and non-being [migra and coloniality]

Videos, talks and debates on migration and coloniality

The event that we are recommending today is concerned with migration and coloniality, explored through videos, talks and debates featuring Boaventura de Sousa, L’Espai de l’Immigrant, Houria Bouteldja (Indigènes de la République), Serigne Assane, Daniela Ortiz, the Tras la Manta collective and the Sindicat Popular de Venedors Ambulants and ZEMOS98, among others. All of them base themselves on decisive lapses that exist concerning the phenomenon of migration: lapses that not only hinder a deep reflection but even fuel exclusionary visions. CCCB therefore offers us the chance to debate on the limits and future of the phenomenon.

OVNI 2016 will take place from the 2nd to the 6th of March at CCCB and admission is completely free. It also features videos and activities that explore post colonialism, the influence of global colonialism, refuge cities and many other related issues. You can find all the information about the event at the following link.
