The OSV perform Mahler’s Fourth Symphony at Palau de la Música

The orchestra will be conducted by Víctor Pablo Pérez and will feature Polish soprano Iwona Sobotka

The Festival of Polish Music in Catalonia is set to take place from 15 to 23 October and will see concerts as many major venues in the country thanks to the backing of the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Poland. As part of the initiative, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès (OSV) is set to appear on 15 October at Palau de la Música to interpret Symphony Number 4 by Gustav Mahler. On its first appearance of the new season, the orchestra will be conducted by Víctor Pablo Pérez and accompanied by Polish soprano Iwona Sobotka.

Before interpreting the main piece of the evening, the orchestra will be performing Three Works in Old Style by H. Gorecki and K. Szymanowski’s Songs of a Fairytale Princess, in which Iwona Sobotka plays an important part.

Born in Burgos, Víctor Pablo Pérez has been the artistic director and main conductor of the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid since 2014, as well as collaborating with many other musical formations. Iwona Sobotka has performed on stages around the world and is known for her repertory of Polish song and especially pieces by Szymanowski.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
