Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès present Bach’s Saint Matthew Passion
Barcelona’s Palau de la Música is to host this performance of one of Bach’s most famous works
In keeping with tradition, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès schedules a programme of sacred music at and around Easter time. The concerts take place at different concert halls in Catalonia, including the magnificent Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
This work, scheduled for the 2nd of April, presents a special challenge since it is considered to be a key piece for understanding the musical talent of one of the greatest composers of all time, Johann Sebastian Bach. This version of Saint Matthew Passion, conducted by Xavier Puig, has been adapted to make it accessible for publics of all types but has lost nothing of the intensity of the original.
