Palau de la Música

Open day at Palau de la Música

The open day is scheduled for 27 November from 10am to 3pm

Do you have any plans for Sunday 27 November? If not, we have the perfect plan for you. One of the city’s most iconic buildings, an emblem of Catalan modernism and a favourite haunt of music lovers, is set to hold an open day from 10am to 3pm. This activity, which is scheduled to take place during the fiesta of Santa Cecília, is an excellent opportunity to spend a family outing taking in the Palau’s wealth of architectural heritage, as well as enjoying a range of activities that all have music as their major focus.

For example, if you’re life-long dream is to be an artist, you can take part in the choral singing workshops. These are led by master conductor Esteve Nabona, director of the Escola Coral and the Cor Jove of the Orfeó Català; Buia Reixach i Feixes, director of the Girl’s Choir; Glòria Coma i Pedrals, director of the Children’s Choir, and Glòria Fernández, director of the Cor Mitjans, and participants will prepare a small repertoire for beginners that will be performed in public during the open day.

Other activities on offer include performances by solo artists from the choirs of  the Orfeó Català, visits to the Documentation Centre of the Orfeó Català, special discounts on concert tickets and in the Palau gift shop, as well as special menus in the Palau café and a photo competition. What better plan could you have for a Sunday in Barcelona?
