Open Call Playable City 2015

The cultural cinema and digital creativity center in Bristol opens the call for worldwide entrepreneurs with a project to create future cities.

Whatershed produces work that cuts across film, music, theatre, design, visual art, and the creative and technology sectors. Examples include The Passion of Joan of Arc,Theatre Sandbox, Electric December and its ongoing artist residency programme.
 

Whatershed has the same objectives as BCN Innovation to promote and provide resources for creative and innovative initiatives. That's why the Department of Creativity and Innovation wants to publicize and encourage Barcelona citizens to take part in the various initiatives by European institutions like Whatershed which bets on creativity as an essential value in promoting economic innovation, technology, scientific and social to develop a new concept of the city.
 

Whatershed opens call for Playable City Award 2015  where creative from all around the world can submit original proposals that put people and play at the heart of the Future City. 
 

A Playable City is a city where people, hospitality and openness are key, enabling its residents and visitors to reconfigure and rewrite its services, places and stories. The ideas that may arise from Playable City are the answer to the coldness and anonymity of the urban environment. By encouraging activities that bring joy and dynamism, we can create a happier and cohesive urban future.
 

From the Department of Creativity and Innovation we encourage to all artists, designers, architects, developers and creatives from Barcelona to participate to Playable City Award 2015. As well as participating is an international project can win prizes worth over 30,000 euros, counseling for your project and the opportunity to participate in conferences of the British Council's Playable City Tokyo.
