Sala Montjuïc is back with the best cinema in the open air

Films from different eras, concerts, picnics and short films in a unique space.

Since 2003, Sala Montjuïc has been holding its film evenings at Montjuïc Castle, one of the most iconic spots in Barcelona. And the films are (which are subtitled and in original version) are accompanied by live music and the opportunity to have dinner and a picnic in the open air during the hottest months of the year. It’s hardly surprising that it draws some 30,000 spectators to each edition. This year, they have, as usual, created a programme featuring films considered to be timeless classics.

The films to be screened from 29 June to 3 August in the castle’s Santa Eulàlia moat include Anchor and Hope on 29 June, Three Billboards outside Ebbing on 4 July, Dunkirk on 9 July, Psycho on 16 July, Manchester by the Sea on 20 July and Hell or High Water on 1 August. You’ll find the full programme here. Among the bands playing at the event are Mazoni, Acoustic Guiri Exposion, Big Pocket Orchestra, the Barcelona Municipal Band and Lucía and Horacio Fumero. Remember that food will also be on offer, including organic dishes and all types of liquid refreshment.

Tickets, costing €6 (€6.5 on the door), are available at the following link.
