The Mersey Beatles offer a flawless imitation of Liverpool’s most famous band

One of the world’s best Beatles tribute bands to play at the Liceu opera house

The opera house on the Rambla will echo to the fab four’s greatest hits

They dress like the Beatles; they have the same haircuts, and even their instruments date from the 1960s. In fact, they all hail from Liverpool and play and sing so well that it’s not surprising that Julia Baird, John Lennon’s half-sister, considers them to be the most authentic Beatles tribute band she’s ever seen or heard. If you want to see what she means, and especially if you’re a fan of the Beatles’ songs and want to hear them played live in a similar way to how John, Paul, George and Ringo used to perform them, you have a great opportunity to do so on 10 December, when The Mersey Beatles take to the stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The band already visited Barcelona last December, when they performed at the Palau de la Música. The success of that show meant that just 12 months later they’re back in town again. The Mersey Beatles began their career in 1999 and have been regular guests at the mythical Cavern Club since 2002. The band consists of Steven Howard, David Howard, Mark Bloor and Brian Ambrose, who have appeared at countless festivals and concerts in the UK, France, Germany, the United States, Australia and Indonesia.

The concert at Liceu is scheduled to begin at 10.30pm.
