Obeses and Oques Grasses will inaugurate the Grec Festival

The Grec Festival will kick off on the 30th of June with a free performance in the Plaça Margarida Xirgu featuring the latest production by Obeses, accompanied by the Barcelona Municipal Band, and the up-beat rhythms of Oques

The 2015 edition of the Grec Festival will kick off at 8.30 pm on the 30th of June in the Plaça Margarida Xirgu with two free concerts: the new production by pop-rock band Obeses in conjunction with the Barcelona Municipal Band, and a performance by Catalan band Oques Grasses. The organisers have also promised other surprises.

Obeses, the band led by Arnau Tordera, will perform accompanied by the Barcelona Municipal Band in a daring production full of humour. The band are characterised by their formal experimentalism, with rhythms inspired by gypsy jazz, rhumba, electronic music, pop-funk and even heavy metal, and will present songs from their latest album, Monstres i princeses.

The party will continue with Oques Grasses, the Revelation Band by popular vote in the 2014 Enderrock Awards and who are now midway through their Living in the Hol·les tour. The band are noted for their positive, up-beat vibe, and their second album, Digue-n’hi com vulguis, a combination of reggae and pop, was released last year.
