“Non-Stop”, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, opens in cinemas

The Catalan film maker already has an established career in Hollywood and his latest film, a thriller starring Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore, opens in cinemas on the 21st of March

Following the success of his previous film, the classic-inspired thriller Unknown, Catalonia-born film maker Jaume Collet-Serra and actor Liam Neeson have reunited to collaborate on Non-Stop, another thriller, though this time the action takes place aboard a plane. The film opens in cinemas on the 21st of March.

In the film, Neeson, who plays the part of a harried North American Army officer who receives a series of anonymous text messages during a transatlantic New York-London flight insisting that he persuade the airline to transfer 150 million dollars to an off-shore bank account. Until he succeeds, a passenger will be killed every twenty minutes.

Working against the clock and unable to trust more than a couple of people, one of them a passenger, played by Julianne Moore, the officer will have to do everything in his power to expose the murderer travelling on the plane.

The film has topped the box office in the USA and is definitive proof of the good relationship existing between Hollywood and the films of Jaume Collet-Serra, who has been living in Los Angeles for some years and has directed other genre films such as Orphan and House of Wax. In addition to Neeson and Moore, the new film also stars Michelle Dockery, known for her role in the TV series Downton Abbey, and Lupita Nyong’o, recent winner of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for 12 Years a Slave.
