“Night-time visits and tasting sessions à la 1714”, in the Born Centre Cultural

Three night-time itineraries providing alternative perspectives on Barcelona circa 1700 and accompanied by tasting sessions in the centre’s new gastronomic space, El 300 del Born

During the months of July and August the Born Centre Cultural has organised night-time tasting sessions and visits to the archaeological site of Barcelona circa 1700, located beneath the Plaça Comercial. Three type of visit are available, all of which offer culturally enriching and historically accurate perspectives on life in the city of Barcelona before the siege by the troops of Philippe V in 1714.

Taverns, inns and aguardientes in Barcelona circa 1700 is a trade-oriented itinerary, offering a perspective on the city’s traders and focusing on cod importers and liquor sellers. Leisure activities in Barcelona circa 1700 deals with the leisure activities of the era and presents some of the popular sporting activities, dances and games of the time and highlights the importance of the concept of belonging to a collective. The final itinerary, entitled An evening in the Born district, focuses on the Ribera district and the vitality of the area through an exploration of the houses unearthed during the excavation.

With an extension of 8000 m2, the Born Centre Cultural archaeological site presents a level of conservation unique in Europe and offers a valuable insight into the day-to-day life in Barcelona circa 1700. The nocturnal visits are accompanied by a tasting session in El 300 del Born, the centre’s gastronomic space.

Visits are available every Wednesday and Thursday during the months of July and August. The Taverns, inns and aguardientes and Leisure activities tours take place from 9 pm to 10 pm and are priced at 10 euros, while the Evening in the Born district tour lasts from 9 pm to 10.30 pm and costs 12 euros.
