48h Open House

A new edition of 48 h Open House

More than a hundred buildings open their doors to visitors

A celebration of architecture: the ninth edition of  48 h Open House is a unique initiative that opens up around a hundred unique structures in Barcelona to visitors, including a number of iconic buildings.

The project is divided into three sections: Open Green featuring constructions that have opted for environmental sustainability, including Hospital de Sant Pau and Espai René, a house that has been renovated applying environmentally friendly criteria. Open Infraestructures groups together singular buildings and facilities such as the Confraria de Pescadors de Barcelona and the city’s sewer system. Finally, Open Social is a showcase for alterative housing, featuring visits to constructions that have slowly but surely become icons for architects.

As well as these sections, the festival also has space for architectural classics such as Casa Sayrach, the Cercle del Liceu, Arc del Triomf, the Pavellons Güell and the Magic Fountain near Montjuïc, which are usually impossible to visit.
