Neuro Music Hack Day

What would you do if you could connect brain waves with music? This is the challenge of the neuro-Music Hack Day

The neuro-Music Hack Day (neuro-MHD) is an incubator of neuroscience and music in the context of Music Hack Day (MHD) that is part of the Sónar+D program.

Music Hack Day will take place on 13 and 14 June in the Palau de Congressos at Fira Montjuïc and will include 24 hours of hacking sessions, API workshops, the final presentations of the results and prizes for the best hacks. Starting in London, it has spread across the world to Berlin, Amsterdam, Boston, Stockholm, San Francisco, Barcelona, New York, Sydney and Montreal. MHD is a very exciting event, watching over 2000 participants taking part, building hundreds of hacks and with over 125 music and tech companies’ supporting the events.

With the support of, the EC funded project KiiCS (Knowledge Incubation in Innovation and Creation for Science) this year the Barcelona MHD will include a special neuroscience track, that will aim at providing a set of useful tools and APIs to encourage hacks that bring together music, brain signals, Brain-Computer Interfaces, and other physiological sensors to encourage the creation of new ways of music creation and interaction.

There are Music Hack Day activities just for hackers and others open to public like technology presentations, final demos and prize giving.
