Sants Neighbourhood Festival

Let the festivities begin in Sants!

Hundreds of activities are scheduled to take place in the neighborhood over eight days in August.

One of the most widely awaited neighbourhood festivals in Barcelona in August takes place in Sants. The fact that Sants is a strongly knit community gives the fiesta even more meaning. For over a week the neighbourhood will be filled with festive activities in which everyone is welcome to take part. The streets will be decorated to participate in the traditional contest for the prize of the best-dressed and everywhere will be buzzing with music and action. Things are set to kick off on 18 August with a parade and a dance featuring folklore figures like giants, castles and drummers known as tabalers and then the opening speech will be given by the actress Gemma Deusedas. The following days will be full of activities including sardana dancing, running fire parades, competitions, open-air dinners and concerts, plenty of concerts! One of the most special musical nights will be on 21 August with Himalaia and Animal at Parc de la Espanya Industrial.

The Festa Major de Sants, which dates from the mid-nineteenth century, will be held from 18 to 26 August.

All of the activities are free of charge. Additional information is available at the following link.
