National Museum Night

On Saturday the 12th of July the National Art Museum of Catalonia (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya) will open its doors free of charge until 1 am for visits as well as music, dance and circus activities

On Saturday the 12th of July the National Art Museum of Catalonia (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya) will open its doors until 1 am for free visits to both the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition entitled Josep Tapiró, pintor de Tànger (The painter from Tangiers).

The event will include guided visits to all areas of the museum, including the mural by Joan Miró, one of the more recent incorporations to the museum, and the selection of modern art pieces that remain on display over the summer months while preparation of the new presentation continues, preparations that are expected to finish towards the end of September.

For the occasion, the National Art Museum of Catalonia has also prepared a programme of dance, music and circus which will include performances of Whim, by the IT dance company, part of the Institut de Teatre, a contemporary circus performance in the dome of the museum by the socio-cultural organisation, Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, and a concert by the Marxin Band, from the music school, Taller de Músics.

National Museum Night will take place on July 12th from 8 pm to 1 am at Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. The event is free and the complete programme may be consulted here.
