Myriam Swanson & Amadeu Casas in the MEAM
The concert will take place on the 11th of April in the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern as part of the series entitled “Our Divas”
Myriam Swanson (vocals) and Amadeu Casas (guitar and dobro) will perform at 6 pm on the 11th of April in the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern, Barcelona, as part of the series of concerts dedicated to blues singers entitled Les Nostres Dives (Our Divas). With their profound admiration and respect for the genre, Swanson and Casas will interpret classic blues numbers by fusing new musical experiences and soundscapes with traditional North American melodies that have their origins in such characteristic and often iconic locations as Memphis, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and New York.
The concert will also provide the Barcelona-born singer and guitarist with an opportunity to pay a unique tribute to other key figures of the genre such as Big Mama Thornton, Robert Johnson, Skip James, Ida Cox, Charlie Patton, Ma Rainey or Nina Simone, among many others.
The Our Divas series will continue up until the 30th of May with a performance every Friday.
