Músiques Sensibles

The Sala Foyer of the Gran Teatre del Liceu hosts a series of contemporary performances by Catalan and international artists

The Gran Teatre del Liceu has initiated a series of concerts under the title, Músiques sensibles. From the 3rd of November to the 18th of December the theatre’s Sala Foyer will play host to a series of 12 concerts by a selection of the most representative artists singing in Catalan today as well as a number of international performers.

The Foyer was traditionally designed to accommodate audiences during concert intermissions and a place to meet performers once the opera had finished. It is located at the heart of the theatre, just below the stalls of the main auditorium and its excellent acoustics provide the perfect conditions for small format concerts.

The series begins on the 3rd of November with Sara Pi presenting her particular brand of R & B fused with Brazilian harmonies. Still in November, the 9th will see the turn of Elena Gadel followed by the acoustic Quart Primera on the 22nd and Blaumar on the 23rd.

December’s programme includes Luthea Salom and Petrus (1/12), Pau Vallvé (8/12), Nuria Graham (14/12) and Canadian Melissa Laveaux (18/12).

Three morning family concerts will also be held, beginning at 12 noon: Candela y Los Supremos (3/11), Oh! Cake & the Cookie (1/12) and Landry el Rumbero (8/12).

Ten per cent of the takings throughout the series of concerts will be donated to a series of non-profit organisations.
