Soprano Sara Blanch, guitarist Izan Rubio and pianist Adrian Blanco, in residence at the Pedrera

These three musicians will perform in Gaudí's emblematic building every third Sunday of the month from 17 September to 20 May.

The Musical Residencies of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera for the 2017-2018 season are now up and running. The three performing artists chosen for this edition are soprano Sara Blanch, guitarist Izan Rubio and pianist Adrian Blanco. They may be young, but all three are recognised talents with emerging careers. Each one of them will be offering a season of concerts that will run from 17 September to 20 May on the third Sunday of every month, taking turns to perform in order, according to the foundation, “to offer a programme that is varied and attractive and allow the residents to spend more time working on their programmes”.

Sara Blanch is scheduled to perform on 17 September, 21 January and 18 March. She is a young Catalan soprano with an important international profile and a unique and flexible voice and is equally able to interpret Baroque work and those of contemporary Catalan composers. Izan Rubio will be performing on 15 October, 19 November and 15 April, accompanied, respectively, by a pianist, a string quartet and a guitar trio. Adrian Blanco will be taking the stage on 17 December, 18 February and 20 May. Hailed by the critics in the US, this young pianist will be accompanied on one day by a percussionist, on his second date by a vocal quartet and for his date will be performing solo.

All of the concerts in this edition of the Musical Residencies programme are scheduled to begin at 6pm. You can book your tickets here.
