Musical Residencies at La Pedrera

More live music at La Pedrera

The seventh edition of the Musical Residencies Programme is about to begin.

The Pedrera Musical Residencies Programme has been scheduling performances by young musical talents from Catalonia since 2012, selecting three musicians who perform three concerts each. By doing so, they provide a platform for emerging names in Catalan classical music while offering interesting musical evenings to the general public. This year, the organisers have chosen pianist Marta Puig, cellist Roger Morelló and violinist Sara Cubarsi from more than 40 candidates. Despite their youth, all three have played at large venues around the world, as well as winning prestigious awards. A new development this year is the creation of the figure of the resident composer. Joan Magrané, the composer in question, has created a piece for each resident musician, which will form part of the recitals that will take place in La Pedrera.

The concerts are scheduled for the afternoon of the third Sunday of every month from 16 September to 19 May. The recitals feature violin, piano and cello solo performances, as well as duets created especially for the occasion, along with a recital with a narrator.

Tickets for all the concerts cost €13 and are available for purchase at the following link.
