The paranymph of the UB to host the 32nd edition of the Music at the University Cycle

The Albéniz Quartet will open the programme on 11 October with a concert featuring works by Webern, Debussy and Beethoven.

No fewer than 16 concerts make up the program of the 32nd edition of the Music at the University Cycle, which will take place in the paranymph of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona (UB) starting on Thursday, 11 October. The Quartet Albéniz, the winner of the last edition of the Capellades International Music Paper Contest, will appear in the opening recital, which will begin at 8pm. Admission is free, though you must request an invitation at www.ub.edu/cultura or at the UB Store the same week of the concert. The quarter will perform compositions by Anton Webern, Ludwig Van Beethoven and Claude Debussy.

The cycle will run until June of next year and will once again feature plenty of UB related musical formations such as the UB Choir, Orchestra (OUB) and the Schola Cantorum. The event is also open to the participation of interpreters from other educational centers, such as the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, the Municipal Conservatory of Music of Barcelona, the Conservatory of the Liceu and the Victoria de los Ángeles Foundation. After the opening concert, we’ll have to wait until 22 November for the second performance in the cycle, in which Jorge Nava and Marc Serra will be performing. The OUB, the Choir of the UB and the Schola Cantorum will offer a Christmas concert on 13 and 14 December and you can also attend the rehearsal which is scheduled for 12 December.
