“Movie Dinners” with Antoni Kirchner, in the Boliche Cinemes

Every Tuesday, following the screening of a recent film, participants are invited to discuss the film in the Restaurant Jockey after dinner

Every Tuesday in the Boliche Cinemes, Barcelona, with the exception of national and local holidays, journalist and film critic Antoni Kirchner is offering Cenas de Cine, or Movie Dinners, an updated recreation of the film forums (cineforums) that were popular throughout Catalonia in the 1960s. The sessions consist of the screening of a recent film in the Boliche Cinemes, followed by dinner in the Restaurant Jockey, just three minutes’ walk from the cinema, followed by an after-dinner informal discussion relating to the film.

Movie Dinners are open to all fans of the seventh art, not just specialists and cinephiles, and all-comers are invited to share their opinions on the film in question. The films are shown in the early evening in order to finish in time for dinner. After dinner, Kirchner offers his views on the film’s more technical aspects and shares his evaluation of the film before opening the debate among all those present. The sessions conclude at midnight.
Some of the films recently seen and discussed in Movie Dinners include Miss Julie, Traces of Sandalwood, Born, Love is Strange and Magical Girl. In the event the film is a Catalan or Spanish production, the screenwriter and others connected to the film are invited to attend the discussion.

Those who wish to attend Movie Dinners should reserve a ticket, or tickets, by sending an email to soparsdecinema@gmail.com as late as 1 pm on the day of the event.
