Martin Beck and Donna Leon are the stars of BCNegra

The festival is entering its final week with some of the main attractions of this year’s edition.

Barcelona’s festival of noir fiction is entering its second week with some of the most important activities of this year’s edition. One of them is the pack of activities that we will be able to see on Friday 5th at Sala BARTS on the iconic avenue Paral·lel. Diverse round-table discussions and acts will be the main attraction for lovers of the crime fiction genre.

Also on Friday, at 8.30pm, there will be a discussion titled Martin Beck has now turned 50 about this character, who broke all of the rules of the genre, revindicating his relevancy today, since his attitude served to increase a critical element that had been missing until that time. Paco Camarasa, the curator of BCNegra, is scheduled to speak about this influential character.

Another highlight of the festival is Donna Leon who, in Venice: city or scenery, will question whether Venice is now a real city or simply scenery, especially now that it is so inundated with visitors. The author, who, while not a native of the city, but has lived there for a number of years, will put her knowledge at the service of a debate that will also see the participation of the journalist Rosa Mora and BCNegra curator Paco Camarasa.
