The Maria Canals Competition brings pianos out into the streets

Pianos will be at the disposal of amateurs and musicians at different points in the city

Warming up for the Maria Canals Piano Competition, which will be held from the 5th to the 8th of March and will feature 82 young pianists competing for the prize, a number of initiatives are bringing attention to both the event and the instrument that is its star. A contest called Do you play? invites participants to record a video with them playing the piano.

And the pianos will once again be brought out onto the street with the initiative Pianos in the Street. An invasion of pianos will reach parks in 10 districts of the city, as well as other locations such as the FNAC store in Plaça de Catalunya,  MACBA and Passeig de Gràcia, where, on Saturday 5th, 10 grand pianos will be set up for anyone to play.
