“Marabunta”, in the Teatre Principal

The first production by Guillem Albà & The All In Orchestra is a surprising and anarchic mixture of music, clowns and cabaret

From december 26th, visitors to the Sala Teatro Latino, part of the recently reformed Teatre Principal, will be treated to Marabunta, a hybrid production of theatrical cabaret fused with clown techniques and music. This is the first show to be presented by the recently- established group Guillem Albà & The All In Orchestra.

In Marabunta, the six accomplished musicians that constitute the All In Orchestra improvise an infinity of musical styles using whatever instruments they have at hand. The show, which is characterised by improvisation and interplay among the protagonists, comprises an endless series of absurd gags that are guaranteed to entertain anyone interested in witnessing an original and surprising performance where interaction and involvement by the audience is openly encouraged.

Guillem Albà was born into a family dedicated to puppet theatre and has studied music and theatre in a number of different schools and with a number of different professors, including Paul Farrington, Nancy Tuñón and Jango Edwards. Since founding his own company in 2006, he has presented three productions, Sketchofrenia, Flirt and Trau, which have won a number of awards. Marabunta, which is performed in a number of languages (Catalan, Spanish, English, French and German), will be playing in theatres, circus tents and on the street up until the 28th of February.
