The lure of the Burlesque returns to El Molino
From the 3rd to the 13td of June, the 5th edition of the Barcelona Burlesque Festival will bring glamour and entertainment to the stage with performances by well-known international artists as well as the full Team Molino troupe
The Barcelona Burlesque Festival celebrates its fifth edition in El Molino as a consolidated event within the city's arts panorama. In just five years the festival has become both one of the top burlesque events in Europe and a platform for displaying the creative, sensual and risqué aspects of a style of entertainment that became popular in the 1920s and 30s.
The El Molino stage will be the setting for performances by international stars the likes of Miss Banbury Cross, the pale-skinned British burlesque artist with platinum hair who has visited the venue on previous occasions, the Barcelona-resident Ukrainian, Ekateryna Korneva, who has garnered international recognition for her acrobatic, hoop routines, and Layla, the young, Berlin-resident contortionist who was a former student of the Rogelio Rivel Circus School. Also present will be Catalan actress, singer and producer, Itziar Castro, who has recently appeared in a number of Spanish films.
Throughout the ten days of this year's festival it will also be possible to catch performances by the full Team Molino, led by Lady Molino, the stage name of Vanesa García de la Torre. In their 'acro-fantasy' production, Merche Mar, Roger Salvany, Juli Bellot, Genia Tykhonkov, Javier Martín, Maite Fernández, Aina Torné, Geni Sánchez and acrobats Sebastián & Susanna will unveil the routines they have prepared exclusively for this new edition of the most glamorous and seductive festival in town.
