“Love for Shakespeare”, in the Teatre Lliure, Montjuïc

On the 6th of October the performance, directed by Lluís Pasquale will offer a series of staged readings of texts by the English dramatist featuring Laia Marull, Mercè Sampietro, Emma Vilarasau and Rosa Maria Sardà

On the 6th of October, the Teatre Lliure, Montjuïc, will present Love for Shakespeare, directed by Lluís Pasqual. The piece is structured as a series of staged readings of the English dramatist’s more celebrated texts as performed by singers and actresses Laura Conejero, Maria Hinojosa, Míriam Iscla, Maika Makovski, Laia Marull, Judith Neddermann, Lídia Pujol, Mercè Sampietro, Rosa Maria Sardà and Emma Vilarasau.

The production features staging by Marc Rosich and will include fragments of Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Henry V and Love’s Labour’s Lost, alternating between Catalan and Spanish. The production inaugurates the focus on Shakespeare programmed for this season in the Lliure theatres of Montjuïc and Gràcia, which will include Henry V, My Perfect Mind, King Lear and Shakespeare at Benicàssim.

Love for Shakespeare can be seen in the Teatre Lliure, Montjuïc, on the 6th of October at 8.30 pm. Prices range from 15 to 29 euros and tickets may be purchased here.
