Festes de Gràcia: 200 years of fun in the open air
For another year, the neighbourhood's annual popular festival will fill the streets with decorations, music and all kinds of activities designed to make the summer more fun.
The Gràcia Festival is a classic on Barcelona's summer agenda and this year sees its 200th anniversary, giving its residents an even better excuse to decorate their streets and bring even more colour to this major expression of popular culture.
So, if you're in town during the celebrations, just take a stroll around the neighbourhood, calling in on the streets that take part in the competition for the best-decorated prize, or take part in the myriad sporting and leisure events programmed or listen to traditional music when Plaça del Sol is transformed into Plaça del Folk every evening. And these are just some of the options from among the more than 400 activities scheduled this year.
