Llum BCN 2013

Light will play the starring role during six days of celebration of the Santa Eulàlia festival

From Tuesday the 12th of February to Sunday the 18th, the Festival Llum Barcelona will be taking place in various parts of the city for the second year running. This festival coincides with the Santa Eulàlia festival, the main winter festival, whose aim is to illuminate the facades of the city’s more emblematic buildings at night time.

This year, however, there will be many more activities relating to light and its use throughout the city, including nocturnal tours of an illuminated Barcelona, light workshops for children, installations (Mapping Barcelona), activities, conferences...

The portal of the Santa Madonna, one of the three gates of the recently remodelled walls of the Drassanes Reials, will be illuminated for the first time. On the nights of Friday the 15th, Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th, in the Plaza Sant Jaume, we will have the opportunity to revisit all the ‘mappings’ created for the La Mercè festivals between 2008 and 2012.

Like last year, the audience may participate not only as spectators, but also as instigators, via Instagram, by sharing photos of the most artistic details of Barcelona’s facades. A unique opportunity to shine.
