Listening Room

The perfect place to listen to Miles Davis and Matthew Herbert

The Listening Room experience, which is organized by Artte restaurant, wants to help you to experience the work of two icons of modern music.

Is there an optimal environment for listening to music? It seems obvious that the listening experience is very different if you’re listening to an MP3 on your mobile phone or hearing it live at a concert hall or reproduced on a top quality sound system. The Listening Room, an initiative that started a few months ago at Artte restaurant, aims to provide people with the opportunity to listen to the finest modern music in optimal conditions and there are two sessions coming up in January.

The first date, on 9 January, features Miles Ahead’ by trumpet player Miles Davis, a masterpiece of jazz from the second half of the 20th century. This key cool jazz album is still capable of opening up a whole world of sensations for listeners. The second date, on 25 January, features 'Bodily Functions' by Matthew Herbert, a mixture of house, jazz, folk and other genres. Each album will be presented by a specialist: the Miles Davis recording by Raynald Colom, one of the greatest trumpet players in Catalan jazz, and the Matthew Herbert album by Carme Bauqués and Raül Chamorro, from the Ultra-Local shop.
