Dmitri Alexeev

A splendid March for music lovers with the Liceu Cambra Cycle of concerts

The programme includes performances by Russian pianist Dmitri Alexeev and students of the Liceu conservatory.

The Liceu Cambra cycle is one of the finest opportunities we have in Barcelona to listen to music performed in small formats, in a space perfectly suited to this experience and at a reasonable price, and also to observe the contrast between consolidated talents and those that are still being trained. All of this is possible thanks to the nature of the Conservatory, where teachers and students live together and receive visits from great teachers who give special masterclasses and encourage the group work of those future musicians. These circumstances coincide in the March program of the Liceu Cambra cycle, which, on 7 March, will feature the prestigious Russian pianist Dmitri Alexeev.

The other concerts scheduled for March will feature groups of students, who will be performing in very different formats: lyrical recitals opera selections, chamber music for wind instruments and in an important event on 3 March at Palau de la Música, with the participation of the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of the Liceu and different choirs singing children's songs. The three remaining dates will be on 22 March (lyrical songs with soprano Anna Niebla and pianist Eric Ledesma), 20 March with the Aire Fresc program (music for wind instruments) and the Lyric Scenes project on 16 March, in which the students of the Liceu will perform opera scenes based around the character of Fígaro and the most important works written for the role by composers like Mozart, Paisiello and Rossini.

The full programme is available on the Liceu Conservatory website.
