The poster for this year’s festival

Ten very intense days for the Les Corts neighbourhood festival

The Festa Major takes place from 5 to 14 October with activities for all tastes and ages and some new scenarios.

A few days ago we left behind Barcelona's Festa Major, La Mercè, but there are already places in the city people still want to have fun, listen to music, take to the streets and dance behind the giants and the other festive figures. And the action is now switching to Les Corts, where the Festa Major will run from 5 to 14 October.

The 212th edition of the festival aims to be particularly accessible to people with reduced mobility or who face other physical challenges and will offer adapted guided routes. Additionally, the festival's program of events is adapted to people with visual impairments, with an invisible code on the cover that links to spoken word versions of the text  through a free mobile application  called Wheris. And this year’s opening speech will be given by Anna Morancho of the Catalunya B1 + B2 + B3 Visual Disability Association and the Espai Inclusió.

Among the new developments this year are some new spaces where the Festa Major will be held, including the brand new Montserrat Abelló library and Parc de Can Rigal. The traditional opera recital changes day and will take place on 13 October at the Axa Auditorium and will feature the soprano Sara Bañeras. Also take note that the second edition of the neighbourhood Tapas Route will take place this year within the framework of the Festival on Wednesday 10 October.

Additional information on the 280 planned activities is available at the following link.
