Magic Line

A large-scale musical celebration for this year’s Magic Line

The celebrations at Sant Joan de Déu will finish off with a concert at Plaça de la Catedral

For yet another year, Solidaritat Sant Joan de Déu is organising the Magic Line, a mass walk which, with the slogan Kilometres full of hope, takes groups of volunteers on different routes around Barcelona with the aim of raising money for campaigns giving a helping hand to people in situations of vulnerability. This year’s walk, which coincides with the establishment of the Hospital Order of Joan de Déu in Barcelona, will take place on Sunday 5 March, following a series of awareness raising campaigns that include art, sports, musical, dance and gastronomic events. Success is assured since the walk already has 12,000 people registered taking part in 850 teams.

This year’s Magic Line celebrations also include a large-scale free concert called Música per la inclusió from 5pm on in Plaça de la Catedral, which is the end point of all of the walking routes. The concert features a number of leading Catalan musicians in collaboration with the participants in the social programmes run by Taller de Músics. It will be presented by musician and actor Joan Dausà, and will feature Clams, Quimi Portet with Manu Daso and Àngels Arnaus, Gossos with Assumpció Malagarriga, Andreu Rifé with Yoyo Marras and Carlos Ariza, Animal with the Baix Llobregat Music Line and Motis & Chamorro & Motis Trio with Omar Boltes and Fredy Garcia.
