French Baroque music is the focus of a recital in which the composer Couperin is one of the key figures.
A musician at the height of his career: Jordi Savall. A historical instrument that has inspired some of the most famous composers of all time: the viola da gamba. Together, they are the stars of a very special performance at Palau de la Música Catalana.
Following the success of his performance of the Saint Matthew Passion last season, Jordi Savall is back with the viola da gamba and the aim of familiarising the public with some examples from the French Baroque canon. Accompanied by top specialists in this very special period of musical, he will be performing a selection of the compositions of François Couperin, including Les nations and Les concierts Royaux.
On this occasion, Savall will once again demonstrate his mastery and familiarity with Baroque music, which have led to him being considered as a leading eminence in the field of early music. And what better venue could there be for this unrepeatable event than Barcelona’s Palau de la Música?
