Barcelona and jazz

Summer Jazz at Park Güell

Free jazz concerts on Fridays at Park Güell.

Barcelona first fell in love with jazz almost a century ago and since then the romance has blossomed. What was adopted here as a form of uninhibited and liberating music has put down roots and even resurged recently, especially as dance music. The Barcelona City History Museum has therefore decided to pay tribute to the relationship between the city and jazz with a programme of four concerts in a very special location: Park Güell.

All the concerts will be Friday at 10pm in Jardins d’Àustria. First up, on 22 June 22, are the Gili-Romaní Hot Jazz Cats , followed, on 29 June, with a tribute to Django Reinhardt by the Biel Ballester Trio with violinist Joan Aguiar. Josep M. Farràs with Toni Solà and the Ignasi Terraza Trio will be paying homage to Jamboree and Cova del Drac, two of the city's iconic jazz venues on 6 July. And finally, on 13 July, the Jazz Care All Stars will pay tribute to Louis Armstrong, surely the best-known figure in jazz.

All the concerts are free. You can check out more information and other activities at Park Güell during the summer at the following link.
