Diana Krall will open the 49th edition of the Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival.
The Barcelona International Jazz Festival is set to bring some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz to the city in an eclectic three-month treat for fans of the genre. As well as offering a chance to catch some of these great names in a live context, the festival is an opportunity to fuse traditional jazz styles with other genres such as flamenco and Latin music. The festival is scheduled to run from 17 October to 19 December, and the opening act is Diana Krall, who will be playing at Auditori del Fòrum on Tuesday 17 October.
Krall will be followed by a series of major artists including Estrella Morente (31 October at Palau de la Música), Tony Visconti (producer for David Bowie, who will appear with his band at Bart son 3 November), James Rhodes (5 November at Auditori de Sant Cugat), Chick Corea & Steve Gadd (9 November at Palau de la Música), Eliane Elias (15 November at Barts) and Julia Holter (29 November at Barts).
