“Improadway”, in the Versus Teatre

This improvised musical performance based on ideas proposed by the audience can be seen up until the 29th of December

The Malrayo theatre company, founded by Rai Borrell and José Malaguilla, presents an improvised musical entitled Improadway, in which two actors with a combined wealth of experience in improvisation (Impromptu Teatre and Planeta Impro, for example), join forces with actor and multi-instrumentalist Roger Julià to offer a surprising presentation in which the audience itself proposes the story line for the performance they are attending.

Improadway combines many and varied theatrical elements, including classic Broadway musical elegance, avant-garde creativity, opera, comedy and components borrowed from the worlds of Walt Disney and traditional Catalan musicals, and representation requires a genuine leap of faith on the part of the performers.

This is an improvised and entirely unrehearsed performance with no prior design or script. The actors rely solely on their own ingenuity and creativity to improvise a story on the basis of ideas that members of the audience write on scraps of paper before the performance, a factor that ensures that every representation is unique.

The presentation can be seen up until the 29th of December in the Versus Teatre.
