Hanna Schygulla a la Filmoteca

Hanna Schygulla to visit Barcelona

The actress and singer will perform a concert and present some of her latest films

She sprang to fame as the muse of director Rainer Werner Fassbinder and his ideas of Anti-Theater. She nowadays represents the antithesis of a traditional diva and has established herself as a symbol of the passing of time and everything that her figure has meant to European culture. We are, of course, talking about the Polish actress Hanna Schygulla, who will be in Barcelona next week to offer a concert and to present some of her most outstanding works for the cinema.

The first of her appearances in Barcelona will be a concert on 6 September. She will be accompanied by pianist Jean-Marie Sénia and will interpret works by Fassbinder, Carrière and Baudelaire. Tickets unfortunately sold out quickly but you still have the chance to see her in other activities organised by the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

At 5pm on 7 September, Schygulla is scheduled to present and reminisce over Lili Marleen, one of the most famous of the films she made with Rainer Werner Fassbinder. On the same day, at 7pm, she will appear in conversation with Esteve Rimbau, the director of the Filmoteca, during which some of her short-films will be presented. Tributes to Schygulla will continue during the following days, featuring films like Heller Wahn/Sheer Madness (9 September), Storia di Piera/The Story of Piera 10 September) and Die dritte Generation/The Third Generation (11 September).
