“Guitarra clásica. La mejor colección del mundo” (Classical Guitars, the finest collection in the world)

Up until the end of the year, the Museu de la Música is offering guided visits to its exceptional collection of guitars that include short recital

On carrer Lepant, in the L’Auditori itself, the Museu de la Música conceals a wealth of wonderful treasures including their priceless collection of classical guitars. The collection includes models that stretch back over four centuries, from the 17th century to the present day. Of particular interest is the collection of Miquel Llobet, a composer and guitarist who was born in Barcelona in 1878 and was instrumental in conferring the guitar with the international relevance it enjoys today.

The objective of the Guitarra clàssica. La millor col·lecció del món  project is to revitalise this legacy, which also includes other stringed instruments, and the guided visits include a short recital with guitars from the collection, thereby completing the experience – It is not enough to merely view a collection of musical instruments, where possible they should also be heard.

The visits last approximately one hour and take place in two groups (3.30 pm and 4 pm) from Tuesday to Sunday.
