The magical world of 'Peer Gynt'

The Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès will perform a semi-staged version of Grieg's symphonic poem at Palau de la Música.

'Peer Gynt' is one of the best-known works of the late European Romantic era. Based on the verse play by Ibsen, it tells the story of the wanderings and misadventures of a young Norwegian man who is banished from his mountain village. The form of Grieg's music is that of the symphonic poem, and the version that will be interpreted by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès at Palau de la Música takes a semi-staged format.

Also on the programme is Mozart's Flute Concerto no. 1 in G major, featuring soloist Mathieu Dufour, and a fragment from the last movement of Mahler's Symphony No 3, in D minor.
