Gossos celebrate their 22-year history with two concerts in L’Auditori

Barcelona is just one of the destinations for the band from Manresa in their small-format tour entitled “222”

In celebration of 22 years on the road, Gossos kicked off their tour, entitled 222, on the 22nd of January in the Sala Kursaal, in Manresa, part of a 22-gig tour that will take in 22 venues throughout Catalonia. The programme includes two shows in L’Auditori, in Barcelona, on the 29th and 30th of January.

The band have decided to celebrate the symbolic number with a unique, small-format style, minimising the distance between the band and their public. As they themselves explain, “We felt it was time to let our fans into our most private space – the rehearsal room.”

The idea is that, for two concerts, the audience will be given the opportunity to experience a live show from on the stage, rather than off-stage, breaking down barriers to transform the concert into a rehearsal, a one-on-one dialog, a festive event in which the audience even goes so far as to influence the music itself.

Led by guitarist and singer, Natxo Tarrés, Gossos began their musical adventures in 1993 with a self-titled album. From the very beginning the band have been noted for their acoustic sound, a style that led them to continue with just guitars and bass up until 2002, when Santi Serratosa joined the band on drums.

Their latest release, Batecs, from 2013, is the last in a list of thirteen albums the band has released over the course of their career, a list which includes just one Spanish record, De Viaje, in the year 2000. Other releases include En Privat, Cares and 8 as well as singles such as “Corren”, “Quan et sentis de marbre” and “Alguna Cosa”, among many others.
