'Gandules 2013' in the CCCB

From the 6th to the 22nd of August, the Pati de les Dones will host the 11th edition of the open air film cycle, Gandules, which, on this occasion, is dedicated to humour

During the month of August the evenings of open air cinema return once again to the CCCB with ‘Gandules 13-Gas Natural Fenosa’, one of the pioneer festivals in this format. The programme, which takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 10 pm, consists of nine 21st century films, preceded by nine short films, which deal with a variety of current themes from an ironic perspective.

In their day these films had brief runs in commercial cinemas despite having received, on many occasions, awards and honourable mentions in film festivals. All have been selected by vote via the CCCB website.

The films deal with contemporary passions, fears and obsessions from a humourist point of view and in a variety of tonalities: black, surrealist, enchanting, oppressive, poetic...

From the French film In the House, by François Ozon (the most voted), to Tulpan, by the Kazakhstani director Sergei Dvortsevoy, the programme includes a variety of proposals that we will once again have the opportunity to see, thanks to the festival. Highlights include animated films such as Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud, Arrugas, by Ignacio Ferreras, the Greek drama Dogtooth, by Giorgios Lanthimos, the English black satirical comedy In the Loop, by Armando Iannucci and starring James Gandolfini, among others.

Entrance is free and seating is limited.
