Sleeping Beauty

A grand gala of world dance at Teatre Grec

The IBStage programme, which aims to promote top-level dance around the world, is holding two performances of 'Sleeping Beauty' featuring the finest contemporary dancers.

Eight years ago, the IBStage programme was created with the aim of offering opportunities to promising young dancers. The idea is to create links between different generations and between consecrated figures and future stars through a plan of studies, grants, joint tours and special galas in different cities. For the first four years of its existence IBStage focussed its efforts in Italy though they have been active in Barcelona for four years now. Two performances already took place in July and now the Teatre Grec is set to host the two culminating nights of the dance season in Barcelona.

On 1 and 2 September, the stage at Teatre Grec will be taken over by 100 dancers who will perform two functions of Tchaikovsky's 'Sleeping Beauty', with artistic direction by Xiomara Reyes and Elías García. The performers for these two functions include international stars and young promises including Kyono Chantal Morino and Jan Spunda, winners of the last OWPD Junior award.

Additional information is available on the IBStage website, where you can also buy tickets.
