Portrait of Gala with Two Lamb Chops in Equilibrium upon her Shoulder

'Gala Salvador Dalí. A Room of One’s Own in Púbol'

The MNAC to devote an exhibition to Salvador Dalí's muse.

The MNAC National Art Museum of Catalonia, in collaboration with the Gala Salvador Dalí Foundation, aims to present a vision of Gala that demonstrates that, as well as being a muse and an artist, she was a key figure for 20th century art. In 'Gala Salvador Dalí. A Room of One’s Own in Púbol', we will see how she managed to shape Surrealism while constructing her image through the photographs of Man Ray and Cecil Beaton and the works of Max Ernst and, above all, Salvador Dalí. The exhibition features 60 works by Dalí, including oil paintings and drawings. In addition, we will have the chance to explore works by other artists, such as Max Ernst, Picasso, Man Ray, Ceclil Beaton and Brassaï. Finally, it's worth highlighting the fact that an interesting set of surreal objects, letters, postcards and books, costumes and objects from Gala's personal dressing table will be on display in the exhibition for the first time.

The set of the 180 works that make up the exhibition can be seen at the MNAC National Art Museum of Catalonia from 5 July to 14 October.

Tickets cost €7 if purchased in advance and €8 at the museum box office. You can acquire them here.
