35th Barcelona Comic Fair

Fira de Barcelona is once again a paradise for comic fans

The 35th edition of the Barcelona Comic Fair is celebrating the centenary of TBO, the iconic Barcelona comic

The Barcelona Comic Fair is back for another year at the Fira de Barcelona grounds in Plaça Espanya for four days, from 30 March to 2 April with all of the new developments in the market, exhibitions and talks on the genre.

This year, the fair is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first issue of TBO, an iconic comic that was first published in Barcelona in 1917 and which became a cultural reference for various generations before folding in the 1980s. Another of the important threads in this year’s fair is the centenary of the birth of Will Eisner, a fundamental figure in the 20th century comic.

Once again, the fair will feature appearances by key figures in the world of the comic, including Argentina’s Sole Otero, France’s Hermann, Gene Ha, a key cartoonist for DC and responsible for drawing figures like Batman and Superman, and Dave Gibbons, the man behind what many consider to be the greatest graphic novel of all time: Watchmen. Information on times and locations can be found on the fair website. Tickets can be bought at the trade fair complex’s ticket booths.
