Film therapies

On April 22 starts the third edition of "Film therapies", a series about cinema, science and medicine at the Ateneu Barcelonès

What is the role of scientific and medical knowledge in the movies? What is the role of cinema in the generation, distribution and management of this knowledge? Film Therapies cycle explores how film reflects on science and health, and how it contributes to the construction process of this knowledge. This time the cycle is dedicated to "Body and identity: scientific and medical perspectives through film".

All sessions are free and will begin at 7 pm in the Sala Oriol Bohigas of the Ateneu Barcelonès (Canuda 6, Barcelona).

PROGRAM:

Tuesday, April 22: "Growing Old" by Fernando Vidal.
The following film will be screened: Amour (Michael Haneke, 2012)

Tuesday, April 29: "Tales of otherness" by Jorge Molero.
The following film will be screened: Freaks (Tod Browning, 1932)

Tuesday, May 6: "The human animal" by Annette Mülberger and Thomas Sturm. The following film will be screened: Planet of the Apes (Franklin J. Schaffner, 1968)

Tuesday, May 13: "Pain and Gender" by Carlos Tabernero.
The following film will be screened: Viskningar och rop (Ingmar Bergman, 1972)
