Barcelona's Design Museum will host a one-day marathon of creative cinema, fashion and advertising.
Fashion is much more than the catwalk and has nurtured an intricate and fruitful relationship with other creative fields, especially those of music, photography and advertising. Therefore, when we speak about a fashion film, we aren't only referring to films about the fashion world, but rather about the kind of work depicting moving images that help to heighten the impact of fashion in the context of advertising, art and television. That is precisely the idea behind the Barcelona Fashion Film Festival, to provide a public that is interested in fashion audiovisual works that are produced every year to give artistic support to the sector. And now, following a long selection process, we are reaching the final gala, in which prizes will be given. The action is set to begin at 6pm at Barcelona's Design Museum.
It will be the final sprint for the more than 150 productions that were chosen to compete in the festival and which will vie for the award for best photography, best idea, best collection and best fashion film. On the jury are names like Judith Colell, Charo Mora and Maya McCarthy, who will be opening the gala with a speech titled ‘Fashion Film, a digital tool for seduction’.
