FI-Performing Arts winners presented the prototype of their shows in Fabra i Coats

The jury appreciated the evolution of both projects, "Chroma" and "Compra'm" and thus can receive their grants in full. In addition, soon they will know if they are part of the coproduction program of the GREC 2016 Festival.

The shows “Croma”, by HandMadeDance i Pelayo Méndez, and “Compra’m”, from Insectotròpics Company, winners of Future Internet-Perfoming Arts contest, presented this week at Fabra i Coats the prototype of their corresponding multidisciplinary stage projects. Both performances were positively assessed by the jury, and thus can receive the full grant of 20,000 euros given by the contest. Among the jurors was Inés Garriga, Department of Creativity and Innovation of ICUBwho was very pleased with the progress of the projects, since "both incorporate technology into their drama with very good results." Moreover, both "Compra'm" and the "Croma" program opt to the coproduction program by the GREC 2016 Festival and will soon know the verdict.

The firstt to presented their project last Tuesday at Fabra i Coats was the company HandMadeDance and digital artist Pelayo Méndez. "Croma" is a audiovisual dance show  that develops simultaneously in multiple locations. Despite being in different places, using streaming technology, the dancers interact with each other through screens that immerse the viewer in the universe of pixel.

On the other hand, the Insectotròpics company presented last Thursday "Compra'm", a multidisciplinary show that combines live video, painting, music and theater as a live cinema. Insectotròpics used a variety of visual effects that apply to different video signals, negative, keying, blend modes, and randoms recorders buffers. "Compra'm" is a reflection on how we are conditioned by the society in which we live in our pursuit of happiness. The show addresses the possibility of redeeming the world under the threat of destroying everything that matters to us.
