The project is a multi-disciplinary networking movement that brings together ten young talents in ten disciplines and forms part of the tercentenary celebrations
Within the framework of the commemorative acts for the Barcelona tercentenary year, the networking project #ffbcn Fàbrica Futur Barcelona is an attempt to outline, connect, position and project the future of Barcelona and its home-grown talent on both the city and the rest of the world.
Curated by journalist Bibiana Ballbè, #ffbcn is a cooperative project consisting of a web platform and conferences which aims to generate the vision, tools and resources necessary to explore the near future of the city in ten different spheres: arts, film, architecture and urbanism, IT, food, education, community, employment, tourism and personal relations; ten spheres that share a common ground in creativity, culture, technology and networking and which will be represented by ten young creators, Adrià Recasens, Santi Pozo, Raquel Lamazares, Bernat Saumell, Adrián Latorre, Mohamed El Amrani, Carmina Solà, Eloi Vilalta, Jordi Valls and Laura Dubreuil.
The key element in the development and dissemination of these creations will be the website which, in addition, will serve as an extensive content library. In parallel, during the months of June and July, a series of conferences will be held in the Sant Agustí Convent Civic Centre to describe how the projects undertaken by these young talents have evolved and also to discuss the future with a panel of experts which includes Ana Maiques, an entrepreneur in the IT sector, Jaume Ripio, director of the video-on-demand platform, Filmin, and journalist Antoni Bassas, among others.
In the closing ceremony, #ffbcn Stars Here, which takes place in the CaixaForum on the 17th of September, the public will be informed of the final results. In the words of Toni Soler, the commissioner of the 1714 commemorative activities, this is “one of the most unique projects in the Barcelona Tercentenary celebrations”.
