Festival LLUM BCN 2015
Coinciding with the declaration of 2015 as the International Year of Light by the United Nations, the light festival from Barcelona celebrates the fourth edition and has established itself as a landmark event with its own personality.
From February 6 to 8 a new Barcelona wakes up in the dark to express its creativity through the language of light. A new city illuminates and transforms monumental buildings, squares and corners full of history and charm in Ciutat Vella.
The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) and the City of Barcelona inaugurate LLUM BCN festival in the International Year of Light with a very special performance by the Colla Jove de Barcelona, because for the first time in history castles will be illuminated. The show will be freely accessible and will take place on Friday February 6th at 8:15 p.m. at Sant Jaume Square.
ICFO as one of photonics research centers internationally acclaimed will be particularly active during 2015 in education. ICFO prepares numerous acts for different sectors of society, like open houses to exhibits on photonics, youth conferences, lectures and workshops that invite the public to discover the power of photonics.
