The exhibition at Disseny Hub Barcelona can be seen until 30 October
Barcelona’s FAD (Foment de les Arts i del Disseny) is a private non-profit association whose aims are to promote the role of design and architecture in Catalan cultural and economic life. It is made up of five associations representing the different field in design: image and fashion, art and crafts, architecture and interior design, graphic design and visual communication and industrial design. Among many other endeavours, FAD organises, through its component associations, Spain’s most important awards in those respective fields of design and Disseny Hub Barcelona is currently hosting an exhibition titled The Best Design of the Year featuring the work of the finalists and award-winners. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain an insight into the work being done in contemporary design in those fields.
The exhibition will be open until the end of October and admission also includes access to the installation Dress Rehearsal: Eating, Sustainable Emergency and Design, which can be visited in the museum’s geodesic dome, opened only two years ago in Plaça de les Glòries. Guided visits to the exhibition, if pre-booked, will take place throughout September from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday and from 10am to 2pm on Fridays.
